“Detoxification,” Fall 2009
Food is full of signaling molecules that alter human genetics. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the food we eat helps us process the potentially toxic chemicals that we might come in contact with on a daily basis. The presentation “How common foods and herbs guide us through a toxic world” will discuss the genius of nature and how it alters detoxification through our daily diets. Emphasis will be placed on vegetables (cruciferous and others), fruits, turmeric (curcumin), green tea, and milk thistle (silymirin).
